Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 9, 2026

The short version:

We collect only what we need to run the service. We never sell your data. We never show you ads. You can delete your account and all your data at any time. Your system information is yours.

1. Who We Are

PluralSpace ("we," "our," or "us") operates pluralspace.app — a platform for plural systems to track fronting, manage member profiles, and journal together. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

If you have any questions, contact us at [email protected].

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

  • Account information: Your email address and password (if you register with email), or your Google account details (if you use Google sign-in).
  • System and member data: Your system name, member profiles (names, pronouns, roles, colors, descriptions), front logs, journal entries, and privacy tier settings.
  • Profile information: Any information you choose to add to your public or shared system profile.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: We collect basic logs of actions taken in the app (e.g., page visits, feature usage) to help us maintain and improve the service. These logs do not include the content of your journal entries or member descriptions.
  • Device information: Your browser type, operating system, and IP address, used for security and abuse prevention.
  • Cookies: We use session cookies to keep you logged in and to remember your preferences. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the PluralSpace service
  • Authenticate your account and keep it secure
  • Display your system and member information to you and, where you choose, to others
  • Send you service-related notifications (e.g., email verification, security alerts)
  • Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or violations of our Terms of Service
  • Understand how the service is used in aggregate, to make it better

We do not use your data to serve you advertisements. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data to train AI or machine learning models.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • With your consent: When you share your system profile publicly or with specific trusted people through our privacy tier system.
  • Service providers: We work with trusted third parties (such as hosting providers and email delivery services) who process data on our behalf, under strict confidentiality agreements.
  • Legal requirements: If required by law or in response to valid legal process (such as a court order), we may disclose information to law enforcement or government authorities.
  • Safety: If we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of any person or to address fraud or security issues.

5. Your Privacy Controls

PluralSpace is built around your privacy. You have meaningful control over who sees your information:

  • Privacy tiers: You can create custom privacy tiers and decide which parts of your system profile are visible to the public, to logged-in users, to trusted friends, or only to yourself.
  • Member visibility: Each member profile can be shown or hidden independently based on your privacy preferences.
  • System visibility: Your system as a whole can be public, unlisted, or private.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account:

  • Your personal data (email, account credentials) will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
  • Your system data (members, journal entries, front logs) will be deleted within 30 days.
  • Some information may be retained for a limited additional period where required by law or for legitimate security purposes (e.g., logs used to investigate a reported abuse incident).

You can request deletion of your account and data by going to your account settings or by emailing [email protected].

7. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. However, no internet service can guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and enable two-factor authentication where available.

8. Third-Party Sign-In (Google)

If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google, solely to create and maintain your PluralSpace account. We do not access any other Google data. You can disconnect Google sign-in at any time through your account settings.

9. Children's Privacy

PluralSpace is not directed at children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected].

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a prominent notice on the service. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes.

11. Contact Us

If you have questions, concerns, or requests related to your privacy or this policy, please contact us at [email protected]. We will do our best to respond within 5 business days.
